Connect HubSpot CRM & Marketing
HubSpot CRM & Marketing is Dash’s main HubSpot connection. Once it is on, you can ask Dash in plain language to look up a contact, check a deal, log a call, or read where things stand in a pipeline, straight from Slack or Teams. Every write waits for your approval.
This is a separate connection from HubSpot Lists & Workflows. Connect that one when you want Dash to create lists or enroll records into workflows. This page covers CRM & Marketing only.
Connect HubSpot CRM & Marketing
Section titled “Connect HubSpot CRM & Marketing”- In Slack or Teams, message Dash and say
connect HubSpot. You can also open the Tools page at app.dashpup.ai, find HubSpot CRM & Marketing, and click Connect. - Dash replies with a one-click authorization link. Click it.
- HubSpot’s authorization page appears. Review the access it asks for, then approve it.
- Dash confirms when the connection is live, usually within a few seconds.
You need a HubSpot account with permission to grant app access. Once connected, all Dash workspace members can use it, unless you restrict access to specific people.
What Dash can do with HubSpot CRM & Marketing
Section titled “What Dash can do with HubSpot CRM & Marketing”Once connected, Dash can:
- Find and update records: look up and edit contacts, companies, deals, and tickets.
- Create records: add a new contact, company, deal, or ticket.
- Read and log engagements: read emails, calls, notes, tasks, and meetings, and log new ones.
- Search the CRM: search records and their associations.
- Query pipelines and properties: check deal stages, pipelines, and record properties.
To create lists or enroll records into workflows, connect HubSpot Lists & Workflows instead.
How access control works
Section titled “How access control works”HubSpot CRM & Marketing follows the same two-axis model as every other Dash tool.
Who can use it
Section titled “Who can use it”The connection has an access scope:
- Workspace (default): every Dash workspace member can use it.
- Private: only the person who connected it and people they add to the allowlist.
Set this on the Tools page under the HubSpot CRM & Marketing connection.
What each operation can do
Section titled “What each operation can do”Every operation has a run mode:
- Auto: runs without asking. This is the default for reads, such as looking up a contact or reading a deal.
- Ask: requires approval before running. This is the default for writes: creating or updating a record, and logging an engagement.
- Off: blocked entirely.
You can change run modes per operation from the Tools page.
What Dash can see
Section titled “What Dash can see”Dash inherits your HubSpot permissions. It can only see and change the records your own HubSpot user account can see and change, never more. HubSpot decides which operations are available from the tools you approve and the permissions your account already has.
Approval for writes
Section titled “Approval for writes”When Dash is about to create or update a record, or log an engagement, it goes through the standard approval flow. The approval card shows exactly what Dash is about to do. You approve or deny from the card. See How approvals work for the full breakdown.
Disconnect or uninstall
Section titled “Disconnect or uninstall”To disconnect, message Dash and say disconnect HubSpot, or revoke Dash from your HubSpot
connected-apps settings (Settings > Integrations > Connected Apps in HubSpot). Either one removes
Dash’s access.
What happens to your data
Section titled “What happens to your data”Disconnecting revokes Dash’s access token, so Dash can no longer read from or write to your HubSpot account. It takes effect immediately.
Anything Dash already did in HubSpot stays in HubSpot. Records Dash created or updated and engagements it logged are your HubSpot data and are not deleted, rolled back, or changed by disconnecting. If you want to remove any of them, do so in HubSpot directly.
To use Dash with HubSpot again, connect the app again, following the steps above.
What’s next
Section titled “What’s next”- Connect HubSpot Lists & Workflows to let Dash create lists and enroll records into workflows.
