Chrome Extension Privacy Notice
Last updated: October 21, 2026
This notice explains what the Dash extension for Google Chrome collects and how it is used. It supplements our general Privacy Policy, which applies to everything else. Dash is operated by Process Street.
The page you ask about
When you send Dash a message from the side panel, the extension reads the page open in your current tab: its address (URL), its title, any text you have selected, and its visible text, up to 12,000 characters. Dash uses this to understand and answer your question. When it captures a page this way, it does not read form fields, password fields, or content that isn't shown on screen.
Suggestions while the side panel is open
While the side panel is open and you are signed in, Dash may also look at a page you switch to or load, and send its address, title, and visible text to Dash's servers to check whether it has a useful suggestion for you. This happens at most once every 30 minutes. You can snooze suggestions on a site for a day or dismiss them for a week. Nothing is read while the side panel is closed.
Actions you ask Dash to take
If you ask Dash to do something on a page, such as filling in a field or clicking a button, the extension reads the parts of the page it needs to complete that step, including the current value of the field it is working on. Dash asks you to confirm before it clicks something that submits or changes information. It never fills password, credential, or payment fields.
Workflows you record
If you choose to record a workflow so Dash can repeat it later, the extension records the steps you take on that page: clicks, navigation, and values you type. Values typed into password, credential, or payment fields are not recorded.
Scheduled browser tasks
If you schedule Dash to do something in your browser, the extension checks with Dash's servers about once a minute while the side panel is open, to see whether one of your scheduled tasks is due. These check-ins send only your sign-in token, not page content. When a task is due, the extension runs it in your browser, which can include reading and acting on pages as that task describes. Typing and navigation run on their own; Dash still asks you to confirm before it clicks something that submits or changes information.
Advanced fill
An optional setting, off by default, lets Dash type into fields that reject automated input. When it's on and Dash fills such a field, the extension uses Chrome's debugging interface for that tab only, for the duration of that one fill, and Chrome shows a banner while it's active. It is not used to read network traffic, cookies, or other tabs.
What stays on your device
The extension stores your Dash sign-in token, a few display preferences, and your suggestion settings (including the sites where you've snoozed or dismissed suggestions) in Chrome's local storage. It does not store page content.
How it's used and shared
Information collected by the extension is sent to Dash's servers and handled the same way as the rest of your Dash data, as described in our general Privacy Policy. It is used only to provide Dash's features to you and your workspace. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not train AI models on it or permit our AI providers to do so.
Retention and your choices
Messages you send from the extension, including the page details sent with them, are kept
with your Dash workspace data and follow the retention and deletion terms of our general
Privacy Policy. You can close the side panel at any time to stop the extension reading pages,
and remove the extension from chrome://extensions. To request access to or
deletion of your information, email hello@dashpup.ai.
